Every Dubai desert safari price, on one page — no surprises
Most Dubai operators hide their prices behind a “request a quote” form, or show one number in the hero and a different one in the fine print. We do the opposite: every package below shows the exact AED price you pay — no strikethrough “was” price, no hidden add-on fees sprung on you at the camp. Choose a package, pick your extras, and send the full breakdown straight to our WhatsApp.
Whether you’re a first-time visitor squeezing in one desert day before a flight home, a Dubai resident showing family around, or a group organiser booking for a corporate offsite, the same rule applies across every package on this page: the number on the card is the number you pay, per person or per vehicle as marked, with no booking fee added at checkout because there is no checkout — only a WhatsApp conversation and a driver who meets you at the agreed point.
Entry price AED 35
The lowest genuine per-person entry price in the Dubai desert safari market — self-drive to our meeting point, no pickup fee.
WhatsApp booking only
No card details, no online checkout, no booking-fee surprise. Confirm your package on WhatsApp and pay the driver on arrival.
Dubai & Sharjah pickup
Shared and private pickup covers Dubai and Sharjah hotels and residential areas — Deira, Bur Dubai, Downtown, Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, Business Bay, DIFC and Al Nahda.
More included as standard than any other Dubai operator
Every package below — even the AED 35 self-drive tier — includes the full activity list. Most Dubai operators charge extra for camel rides or henna; ours are built in from the first AED.

The right Dubai desert safari for your trip
Families
The Private 4×4 (AED 600, up to 6) keeps your family together in one vehicle at your own pace, with kid-friendly camel rides and sandboarding built in. Dune bashing intensity can be adjusted for younger children — just tell your driver on arrival.
Couples
The VIP Evening Desert Safari (AED 250/person) pairs sunset dune bashing with VIP majlis seating and live entertainment — add the Long Camel Ride (AED 150) or Sheesha at Table (AED 80) for a more intimate evening.

Sharing Bus Pickup (AED 50) is the easiest way to join a safari without a car or a group booking. Larger groups can combine multiple Private 4×4 vehicles (AED 600 each) — message us on WhatsApp for group coordination.
Group & corporate bookings
For team offsites, incentive trips or larger tour groups, we coordinate multiple vehicles under a single booking so your whole party arrives and departs together. Mixed pickup across Dubai and Sharjah offices is possible on request, and we can quote a fixed per-person rate for groups of 10 or more rather than the individual package prices above. Where your Dubai desert safari actually happens
🏜️ Al Lahbab — The Red Dunes
Roughly 45 kilometres southeast of central Dubai via the E66 (Hatta Road), Al Lahbab is home to the towering red dunes most operators mean when they say “Dubai desert safari.” Wind-blown erg dunes here reach up to 30 metres, and the iron-oxide sand that gives them their colour also makes for some of the most dramatic golden-hour photography in the UAE. This is where our standard dune bashing, sandboarding and camel-ride activities take place.
🌵 Al Awir — Our Self-Drive Meeting Point
Around 25–30 kilometres northeast of the city off Al Awir Road, this is where our self-drive guests park and transfer into a Land Cruiser for the dune-bashing leg. It’s a paved, easy-to-reach staging area — no 4×4 or desert-driving experience needed to get there, and the exact GPS pin is shared by WhatsApp once you book.
🦅 Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve
Roughly 60 kilometres southeast and spanning 225 square kilometres, the DDCR is a protected conservation zone — no dune bashing is permitted here, but it’s home to reintroduced Arabian oryx and sand gazelles. It’s a useful reference point if you’re comparing “eco safari” tours against our adventure-focused packages.
🕌 Bedouin heritage, still alive in every camp
Long before 4x4s crossed these dunes, Bedouin tribes navigated the same erg by camel, reading the shamal winds and the shifting sand for water and grazing. That heritage is why every camp still opens with qahwa — Arabic coffee brewed with cardamom — and dates, why the majlis remains the seating heart of the evening, and why henna, Arabic costume photography, the Tanoura spin and belly dance are treated as living tradition at our camp rather than a stage show.
The Tanoura dance in particular traces back to Sufi whirling traditions absorbed into Gulf celebration culture — performers spin continuously under LED-lit skirts as part of the evening’s live entertainment lineup, alongside the belly dance and fire show. Guests are welcome to photograph the performances and, at many camps, briefly join in.
🐫 Desert wildlife you might spot
The UAE’s national animal, the Arabian oryx (al-maha), was reintroduced to protected reserves like the DDCR after near-extinction in the wild. Sand gazelles and houbara bustards also inhabit the wider Dubai-Sharjah erg. Falconry — with Saker and Peregrine falcons — remains a UNESCO-recognised Bedouin tradition, which is why falcon photography is one of our most requested add-ons.
While dune bashing itself takes place on the working red-dune terrain of Al Lahbab rather than inside the protected DDCR, the falcons brought to camp for photography sessions are handled by experienced falconers and give guests an up-close look at a bird central to Emirati identity, long before oil, long before the skyline — hunting partners to the Bedouin for centuries.
🏔️ Lahbab Red Dunes — Dubai’s Best Dune Bashing Location
Your safari takes place in the Lahbab Desert (also called the Red Dunes), located approximately 45 km southeast of Downtown Dubai via the E44 Hatta Road — about 40–45 minutes from most Dubai hotels. Lahbab is the premier desert safari location in Dubai for one measurable reason: the dunes here reach 50–100 metres in height, coloured deep terracotta-red by iron oxide in the sand.
This height and texture is what makes high-adrenaline dune bashing safe and thrilling simultaneously — professional drivers can achieve steep near-vertical descents while maintaining vehicle control. Shallower desert zones around Al Awir (closer to the city) use dunes of 10–20 metres, which give a noticeably milder experience at a similar price point. Every safari we operate departs to Lahbab — not a secondary location.
Self-drive guests: Drive to our meeting point at the Al Awir Desert Camp entrance off the E66 / Hatta Road. We send you the exact GPS pin on WhatsApp when you confirm your booking. The drive takes 35–40 minutes from Downtown Dubai, 45–50 minutes from Dubai Marina, and is entirely on sealed highway — no off-road driving in your own vehicle required.
Dune bashing safety — DTCM-certified drivers, every vehicle
Our safety standards
Every dune bashing session runs in a Toyota Land Cruiser with an experienced desert driver, seatbelts fitted for every seat, and a controlled route across Al Lahbab’s dunes. Drivers adjust speed and intensity based on your group’s comfort — tell your driver at any point if you’d like a gentler ride.
Who should take it easy
Dune bashing is not recommended for pregnant guests, anyone with a recent back or neck injury, or heart conditions. A camp-only experience — skipping the dune bashing leg but keeping the camel ride, henna, entertainment and BBQ dinner — can be arranged; message us on WhatsApp to arrange this in advance.
What most Dubai desert safari sites won’t tell you upfront
❌ The typical Dubai operator
Search “desert safari Dubai” and you’ll find sites where the homepage banner shows one price, the package table shows a second price, and the FAQ section quotes a third — sometimes on the very same page. Add-ons like quad biking or VIP seating often only get mentioned once you’re already mid-checkout, or worse, at the camp itself.
✅ Desert Safaris Dubai
Every price on this page — in the package cards, the comparison table, the interactive builder and the WhatsApp message it generates — is the exact same number. What you see is what you pay, and every optional extra is listed with its price before you ever pick up the phone.
We built this policy after watching how confusing Dubai desert safari pricing has become across the industry — strikethrough “was” prices, demographic pricing tables that contradict the hero banner, and vague “starting from” language that never quite matches what you’re actually charged. Message us on WhatsApp and the price you’re quoted is the price you’ll pay on arrival — no exceptions.
When to book your Dubai desert safari
The Dubai desert safari season runs year-round, but October through April offers the most comfortable conditions — daytime temperatures around 22–30°C and cooler evenings around 15°C, ideal for dune bashing, sandboarding and an evening BBQ under the stars. Summer safaris (May–September) still run, with morning and evening timings adjusted to avoid the midday heat; the desert cools significantly after sunset even in summer, making the VIP Evening and Overnight packages comfortable year-round. Fridays and public holidays book out fastest — message us on WhatsApp a day or two ahead to lock in your preferred slot.
How the AED 35 self-drive desert safari works, step by step
The self-drive option is the reason our Dubai desert safari starts at AED 35 while most operators quote AED 99 or more — you simply remove the cost of city transfers by driving yourself to the edge of the desert. Here is exactly how it works. First, you book on WhatsApp and receive a Google Maps pin for our desert meeting point on the Al Awir Road side of the dunes, along with your arrival time. Second, you drive out in your own car — any normal sedan or SUV is fine, because the meeting point sits on paved road with free, safe parking.
You never take your own vehicle onto the sand. Third, our team welcomes you at the gate, you park, and you transfer into one of our 4×4 Land Cruisers with a licensed desert driver for dune bashing and every activity that follows. Fourth, at the end of the night we drive you back to the same spot, you collect your car, and you head home. It is the exact same safari, camp, dinner and shows as the pickup packages — the only difference is who handles the driving on tarmac.
Self-drive suits UAE residents, visitors with a rental car, and anyone staying outside the standard pickup zones. If you would rather not drive at all, the sharing bus pickup at AED 50 per person or the sharing 4×4 home pickup at AED 120 per person covers door-to-door transfers across Dubai and Sharjah.
Dubai and Sharjah pickup zones for your desert safari
Bus, sharing 4×4 and private packages include pickup and drop-off from fixed, easy-to-find points across both cities. Choose whichever is closest to your hotel or home when you message us on WhatsApp:
🚌 Dubai pickup points
Deira City Center · Burjuman (Spinneys) · Lulu Hypermarket, Al Barsha · Dragon Mart (ibis Styles Hotel)
🚌 Sharjah pickup points
Sahara Center · Sharjah City Center · Mega Mall · Safari Mall, Muwaila
Each point is a landmark mall with free parking and taxi access, so there is no hunting for an office in a side street. When you book, tell us which pickup point suits you and we confirm your exact pickup window the same day — usually mid-afternoon for evening safaris and early morning for morning safaris.
Because the desert safari itself takes place in the Al Lahbab red dunes east of the city, travel time from your pickup point is typically 45 to 70 minutes depending on where you stay and the traffic on E44 or Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. Your driver uses that time well — most of our guests say the desert briefing on the drive out is where the evening starts to feel real.
Quad bikes and dune buggies on a Dubai desert safari
If dune bashing in a Land Cruiser is the appetiser, driving the sand yourself is the main course for adrenaline lovers. On any of our Dubai desert safari packages you can add a quad bike — AED 150 for a single-seater or AED 250 for a double-seater — ridden on a marked track in the dunes under the eye of our marshals, with helmets provided and a short briefing before you set off. No licence is needed and first-timers are welcome; the automatic quads are genuinely easy to control.
For something faster, the dune buggy is a two-seat open-frame machine at AED 800 for a 30-minute drive. Where a quad skims the surface, a buggy attacks it — long-travel suspension, roll cage, bucket seats and enough power to climb the taller Lahbab dune faces. It is the closest most visitors will get to desert motorsport, and it photographs brilliantly at golden hour. Both options are booked as simple add-ons in the package builder above, so your WhatsApp message arrives with everything already itemised.
What to wear and bring on a Dubai desert safari
Dress light and loose. Cotton or linen t-shirts, comfortable trousers or long shorts, and closed shoes or trainers work best — sand gets everywhere, and flip-flops make dune walking harder than it needs to be. From November to March, evenings in the open desert cool down quickly after sunset, so bring a light jacket or hoodie for the camp portion of the night. A cap or scarf, sunglasses and sunscreen matter most on morning safaris when the sun sits higher.
Bring your phone fully charged for photos, a small amount of cash for optional extras at the camp, and any personal medication you may need — the camp has washrooms for men and women, unlimited drinking water and seating, but no pharmacy. Leave large bags at your hotel; there is limited secure storage at the camp. Ladies who want the henna and Arabic costume photos included in every package need nothing extra — our team provides it all on site.
Best time of year for a desert safari in Dubai
The Dubai desert safari season peaks from October to April, when daytime temperatures sit in the comfortable mid-20s to low 30s and desert nights drop to a crisp 15–18°C — perfect for the outdoor camp, the fire show and dinner under the stars. December and January are the busiest months; if you are visiting then, book two to three days ahead on WhatsApp to secure your preferred slot, especially for the VIP Evening package.
Summer safaris from May to September still run daily and have their own logic: evening departures mean you skip the harshest heat, the dunes at sunset are quieter, and prices never change with the season — the AED 35 entry price holds year-round. Morning safaris in summer start early to beat the sun. Whichever month you visit, the golden rule is the same: the desert one hour before sunset is the most beautiful place in the emirate, and every evening package is built around being on the highest dune at exactly that moment.
Morning, evening or overnight — which Dubai desert safari should you pick?
Choose the morning safari (AED 250 per person, or AED 750 for a private car) if you are short on time, travelling with young children who nap in the afternoon, or visiting in the cooler months when a bright desert morning is at its best. You get dune bashing, camel riding and sandboarding compressed into an energetic half-day and you are back in the city by lunch.
Choose the VIP evening safari (AED 250 per person) if you want the full classic experience — it is our hero package for a reason. Sunset photography on the red dunes, VIP majlis seating at the camp, a single-seater quad bike included, live belly dance, LED Tanoura and fire shows, and a BBQ buffet with veg and non-veg options. This is the safari most first-time visitors imagine when they picture Dubai.
Choose the overnight safari (AED 450 per person, minimum 2 guests) if you want what almost no one else takes home: the desert after the crowds leave. Stars with zero city glow, the silence of the dunes at midnight, and sunrise over the sand with breakfast before you return. It includes everything the evening safari offers, plus the night itself.
Everything included in a standard Dubai desert safari — in detail
Every package on this page, from the AED 35 self-drive to the AED 600 private 4×4, includes the same core experience — we do not sell a stripped-down ticket and charge you at the camp for the basics. Dune bashing comes first: a licensed driver takes your Land Cruiser across the red sand in a controlled, exhilarating run that remains the single most searched-for desert safari activity in Dubai. A short camel ride follows at the camp, the way travellers crossed these dunes for centuries before the 4×4 arrived. Sandboarding is next — strap onto a board, pick a dune face, and slide; no experience needed, and you can go as many times as your legs allow.
At the camp itself, ladies receive a small henna design, everyone can dress in Arabic costume for photographs, and sheesha is available in the dedicated seating area with different flavours. Starters — pakora, samosa and tea — are served around 6:30, giving you energy for the evening ahead. As night falls, the live entertainment begins: a belly dance performance, the spinning LED Tanoura show rooted in Sufi tradition, and a fire show that closes the programme. Dinner is a BBQ buffet with both veg and non-veg options, with unlimited drinking water throughout the evening and clean washrooms for men and women on site.
That full list — transfers aside — is identical whether you pay AED 35 or book a private car. It is also why our guests rate the experience ★4.9 across 3,500+ reviews: the entry price changes how you arrive, never what you experience. Book now, pay on arrival — your plans stay flexible until the moment you reach the desert.

Dubai desert safari — frequently asked questions
Your safari takes place in the Lahbab Red Dunes, approximately 45 km southeast of Downtown Dubai via the E44 Hatta Road — a 40–45 minute drive. Lahbab is the premier desert safari location in Dubai: the dunes reach 50–100 metres in height with distinctive red-orange iron-oxide sand, giving the best dune bashing and sunset photography conditions in the emirate. Al Awir (closer to the city) has lower 10–20 metre dunes and a gentler experience — budget operators often use Al Awir while advertising Lahbab pricing. All our safaris operate at Lahbab Red Dunes. For self-drive guests, we send the exact GPS pin to WhatsApp after booking — the meeting point is on sealed road, no 4×4 required to reach us.

What guests say after their Dubai desert safari
We hold a ★4.9 average across 3,500+ reviews. These are the three things guests mention most often: the driving, the food, and the fact that the price they saw online was exactly the price they paid at the camp.
“The dune bashing driver was superb — thrilling but you always felt safe. We paid AED 50 each for the bus pickup from Deira City Center and honestly expected a catch. There wasn’t one. BBQ dinner was excellent.”
Sarah M. · United Kingdom“Booked the VIP evening on WhatsApp in the morning, got picked up from Sahara Center in Sharjah the same day. The quad bike and the majlis seating made it feel far more expensive than AED 250. Kids loved the fire show.”
Imran K. · Sharjah“We drove ourselves to the Al Awir meeting point — AED 35 per person for dune bashing, camel ride, sandboarding and a full dinner show is the best value activity we found in the whole of Dubai.”
Elena & Marco · ItalyNot visiting Dubai? We run Abu Dhabi desert safaris too
Desert Safaris Booking operates in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi under the same pay-on-arrival, WhatsApp-only booking model. The two deserts differ in character — Dubai’s Al Lahbab dunes are famous for their deep red colour and dramatic height, while Abu Dhabi’s Al Khatim and Liwa region stretch toward the Empty Quarter and Moreeb Dune, one of the tallest dunes on Earth. Pricing, pickup zones and meeting points are set separately for each city — Dubai and Sharjah pickup for this page, Al Wahda Mall, Mazyad Mall and Safeer Mall Shabiya for Abu Dhabi.
